From the Times of 24 Feb 2026: PHILLIPS Sir Robin Francis, son of the late Camilla Pisani. Died 10th February after a short illness. Funeral at West Chapel, Putney Vale, Cemetery, Stag Lane, London… on 10th March at 2pm. Friends from Biggin Hill, Devonair, Corona and Ravenscourt Theatre Schools all welcome. He was the only child of Capt Sir Lionel Francis PHILLIPS 2 Bt 1914-ka1944 and as her 1 h Camilla Mary 1916-2006 (Mrs John Pisani) d of Capt Hugh Algernon PARKER 1879-1954 (gs of 6 Earl of MACCLESFIELD 1811-96, as well gs of 2 Marquess of WESTMINSTER 1795-1869 (who was f of 1 Duke of WESTMINSTER 1825-99), gt gs of 1 Duke of SUTHERLAND 1758-1833, etc etc) and Averil Frances 1884-1969 d of Capt Brownlow Richard Christopher TOWER 1851-1932 scion of that gentry family f/o Weald Hall and Hon Marion Isabella CUST 1854-1939 (sister of 5 Baron BROWNLOW, who were both gt gc of 1 Baron BROWNLOW 1744-1807). He never married.

He had been  one of the very few peers/baronets remaining whose fathers had been killed in World War II.

The only other ones I remember offhand are the Earl of Chichester and Viscount Gormanston.

Sir Robin's years were 1940 - 2026.

Other peers whose fathers died in WW2:
- HRH The Duke of Kent (2nd) - born 1935.  His father died 1942 in the Dunbeath Air Crash.
- 2nd Viscount Ullswater - born Jan 1942.  His father (John Lowther) died 1942 in the same air crash.  The 2nd viscount succeeded in 1949 on the death of his great grandfather.

Sir William Young Bt (10th 1769) - b 1941.  His father (William  Eliot Young) ka 1942 Libya dvp.  The 10th Bt succ his grandfather 1944

Sir Ranulph Fiennes Bt (3rd 1916) - b 1944 post. His father (the 2nd Bt) died of wounds received in action Italy 1943

Sir Brian Barttelot Bt (5th 1875) - b 1941.  His father (the 4th Bt) ka France 1944
