Richard, you have a very sharp eye indeed, with regards to the grandchildren.

With only those 2 sons, one wonders who the father of those children are, particularly, the males, who would be in remainder.  The Debrett Database doesn't even show Henry right now, but we know from the Times that Ian is Henry's father.

So the question is who is the father of Alexander and Freddie?  Maybe Debrett's will update the database and we will know.

A good spot indeed!

Ian I H S. and Laura HEYBROOK are parents of the following according to the GRO indices
Henry, b Q2 2002 Kensington & Chelsea (as above)
Frederick (Freddie) T V S., b Q1 2009 Oxfordshire
Violet I R S., b Q3 2010 Oxfordshire

Based on the convention of listing grandchildren in age order, this means Anna and Alexander born between 2002 and 2009, and presumably are James' children?  I'm not able to identify a good candidate marriage for James in the Ancestry indices to 2005.  There are no GRO marriage indices yet.

There is only one Anna in this timeframe:
Anna F S., b Q1 2004 Truro
However, we should acknowledge the possibility of a different surname.
There is no obvious candidate for Alexander amongst several possibilities - I also checked for Thomas Alexander in case that convention was being continued.

Henry, the frustrating part is that it would seem that Alexander would be the new baronet's son, in which case, he would be ha to his father. Instead, at least right now, we are "stuck" with having to list the baronet's brother as the hp.

I agree that it is likely that Alexander is the ha.  However, we should not ignore the possibility he was born out of wedlock.

The Debrett's database has already been updated to list Freddie and Violet as children of Ian. Hopefully they can untangle the other two and list them at some point soon. In the meantime, we at least know this title is flush with heirs in the next generation (incl on other lines).

Henry, I never thought of that (about Alexander possibly being born out of wedlock).

It will be interesting to see the next Kershaw update.

Brooke.

Debrett's online states new Bt is director of Skinner Mining & Investments Ltd.  His correspondence address (publicly available) is Wood Farm, Wood Farm Lane, Reydon, Southwold, [Suffolk] IP18 6SL.  A quick check on 192.com only shows him and his parents now (or formerly) at this address.
