She was dau of Desmond Patrick TRENCH (1893 - 1967), scion of the ASHTOWN barons (descended from 6th brother of 1st Baron, in special remainder) and Elfrida Mary Eliott YOUNG (died 1942)

She m 1948 Robin Krohn POOLEY and with him had a son and an adopted dau.

Elfrida Mary Eliott YOUNG was a great-great-grandaughter of Sir William ELIOTT, 6th Bt of Stobs (1767 - 14 V 1812).

Robin Krohn POOLEY (born 1921) had two older brothers: (Henry) Peter Krohn POOLEY, OBE (12 I 1912 - 5 II 1996), a broadcaster and information officer, and Olaf POOLEY (born Ole Krohn POOLEY; 13 I 1914 - 14 VII 2015), an actor. Their parents were Hugh Francis POOLEY (2 X 1883 - 31 XII 1971) and his Danish wife, Michaela KROHN (7 XI 1885 - 11 II 1970).

Hugh Francis POOLEY was the brother of Sir Ernest Henry POOLEY, 1st and last Bt, GCVO (20 XI 1876 - 13 II 1966), who was Chairman of the Arts Council of Great Britain from 1946 to 1953.
