From the Telegraph of 7 Feb 2026: MAINWARING David Hugh Kynaston died peacefully on 16th January 2026, aged 85. Much loved husband to Elizabeth for 54 years, father to Hugh and Henry, and cherished grandfather to six. Funeral Service at St Mary's Church, Chipping Norton, on 12th February at 2.30 p.m.

He was s of Brig. Hugh Salusbury Kynaston MAINWARING CB CBE DSO TD 1906-1976 scion of that gentry family of Oteley (and 2xgt gs of Sir Hugh WILLIAMS 3 Bt 1802-76, as well 3xgt gs of Sir Watkin WILLIAMS-WYNN 5 Bt 1772-1840, 4xgt gs of 1 Earl of POWIS 1754-1839 (cr 1804), 5xgt gs of 1 Earl of POWIS c1703-72 (cr 1748), 7xgt gs of 2 Marquess of POWIS c1665-1745, etc etc) and Diana 1913-67 d of Maj William Marshall DUGDALE CB DSO TD 1881-1952 scion of that gentry family of Wroxall Abbey and Ruth Edith d of Rt Hon Sir John Eldon BANKES GCB 1854-1946 sometime head of that gentry family of Soughton Hall and Edith Anna 1856-1931 d of Robert Peel ETHELSTON 1831-1906 sometime head of that gentry family f/o Hinton Salop and his 1 w Louisa Philippa 1829-1892 d of Thomas PERRY of Moor Hall, Essex. He m 1971 reg Q3 Devon Elizabeth C b c1940 d of Maj James ORR of Lynderies, Spreyton, Devon [by his 1937 m reg Q4 Devon to Olga BURTON], and had two sons:
