The Hon Alexander John Runan Monson, son and heir of the 12th Baron Monson (b 19 Oct 1955), by his wife the former Hilary Martin, died in hospital in Kenya, 19 May, 2012. He was 28. He was born in 1984, and, I think, unmarried. The heir pres to the peerage & baronetcy is now Lord Monson's next brother, the Hon Andrew Monson (b 1959)

Yes that appears to be correct and the new HP has two daus and the next brother b 1961 is unmarried, and none of the uncles of the current baron have any male issue and there are no other males in the collaterals. So this peerage is now perhaps tragically entering the watch list.

Alexander's parents divorced and Lord Monson married 2ndly, in 2002,  Maria V. Nicklin (nee Perez)

His tragic passing marks the third time this year that an heir (either
apparent or presumptive) to a barony has died this year.

The other two were Hon. Shaun Plunket (brother of Lord Plunket) and
the Master of Kinloss.

Yes, very sad. It would appear Lord Monson's hp is his brother the Hon Andrew Anthony John MONSON (b 1959) who is married with two daus. The next in line is the peer's first cousin John Guy Elmhirst MONSON (b 1962), also married (to a d of 11th Duke of GRAFTON) with two daus. The only other male in line is the peer's Uncle the Hon Anthony John MONSON (b 1944) who is unmarried.

 

The peer m his third wife in 2010.
