He was s of Maj Philip Savile LOWSLEY-WILLIAMS 1899-1985 scion of that gentry family to which his son succ. as head on the death of his uncle in 1958, and Ida Moira Jennings 1900-80 d of Thomas Joseph CARROLL-LEAHY 1850-1919 sometime head of that Irish gentry family of Eglantine and Anne Mary HAROLD-BARRY d 1952 scion of that Irish gentry family of Ballyvonare. He m 1958 Rona Helena b 1936 d of Maj Angus McCORQUODALE 1950-ka1940 by his wife and 1^st cousin Pamela Constance McCORQUODALE 1910-44 both scions of that gentry family of Cound Hall, and had a son and two daus. His son succeeds him as head of the family:

The "Savile" comes from his paternal grandmother having been Beatrice Mary Savile, of the Earls of Mexborough.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Royal Honorary Colonel, The Royal Wessex Yeomanry, was represented by Colonel the Rt Hon Simon Hart MP (Honorary Colonel) at the Memorial Service for Colonel David Lowsley-Williams (formerly Second Commanding Officer) which was held at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalen, Church Street, Tetbury, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.

Her Royal Highness [The Princess Royal] was represented by Mrs Brian Hammond (Lady in Waiting to The Princess Royal) at the Memorial Service for Mr David Lowsley-Williams which was held at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin and St Mary Magdalen, Church Street, Tetbury, Gloucestershire, this afternoon.

Interesting he’s ‘Colonel’ in one announcement and ‘Mr’ in the other….
