He was s of Sir (Charles Arthur) Evelyn SHUCKBURGH GCMG CB 1909-94 and Hon Nancy Gladys BRETT 1918-99 d of 3rd Viscount ESHER GBE 1881-1963 and Antoinette HECKSCHER 1887-1965. He m 1st 1963 (div 1970) Faith Beatrice d of Sir Paul Herve Giraud WRIGHT KCMG OBE 1915-2005 and Beatrice Frederika RATHBONE MBE 1910-2003, and had a son and a dau. He m 2nd 1975 Sarah Elizabeth b c1951 reg Q1 Herefs&Worcs d of Sir David Valentine WILLCOCKS CBE MC 1919-2015 and Rachel Gordon BLYTH, and had a further son and two daus.

From the Times of 18 Nov 2021: SHUCKBURGH Julian died peacefully on 23rd September 2021, aged 81. A funeral will be held at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Ewelme, Oxfordshire, on Friday 26th November at 2pm.
