POWELL / Loyd engagement

Mr B. Powell and Miss C. Loyd

The engagement is announced between Benjamin, son of Sir Nicholas Powell and Mrs Davina Powell, of Little Coxwell, Oxfordshire, and Camilla, eldest daughter of Mr Thomas Loyd, of Lockinge, Oxfordshire, and Mrs Kirsten Loyd, of Woolley Park, Berkshire.

Benjamin Ranulph Berners POWELL (born 1989) is the son of Sir Nicholas Folliott Douglas POWELL, 4th Baronet (born 1935) by his 2nd m (1987) to Davina Hyacinth Berners ALLSOPP (born 1960), dau of Michael Edward Ranulph ALLSOPP (1930 - 2017) and Patricia Ann BERNERS (died 2017).

Michael ALLSOPP was a scion of the HINDLIP barons and HATHERTON barons

Patricia BERNERS was a scion of  the ANSTRUTHER baronets.

Not quite sure why the groom's mother is being described as merely "Mrs Davina Powell", even if she and Sir Nicholas have divorced she should be Davina, Lady Powell, or have a completely different surname if remarried.

Very interesting Colin. Finding out about his young family on GRO is a bit difficult, as Benjamin's brother Oliver, is married to Camilla's sister Sophie, when looking on GRO entering the names POWELL/LOYD (there is no way of knowing which brother the following issue belong too)
