From the Telegraph of 17 Feb 2023: PIKE Robert Eben Neil (known as Neil) died peacefully at his home in Sussex on Friday 10th February 2023, aged 77. He is survived by his beloved wife Romayne, children Tamsin and Harry and his four grandchildren Maeve, Eben, Malachy and Jasmine. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends in both England and Ireland. The Funeral will be held at Fletching Church at 12 noon on 6th March 2023. Family flowers only. He was yr s of Lt-Col Godfrey Eben PIKE DSO MBE 1915-? scion of that Irish gentry family f/o Besborough & Kilnock and Caroline Fox 1921-84 d of Sir Cecil HANBURY 1871-1937 sometime head of that gentry family of Kingston Maurward and as her 1st h (her 2nd was Rev Ruthven Forbes) Effield Dorothy Cecil OBE LGStJ 1889-1972 (Mrs Hanbury-Forbes) d of John Frederick SYMONS-JEUNE 1849-1925 sometime head of that gentry family f/o Watlington Park and Frances Susan d of Capt Richard Hanmer BUNBURY 1813-57 (s of Lt-Gen Sir Henry Edward BUNBURY 7th Bt 1778-1860) and Sarah Susana SCONCE 1816-97. He m 1968 Lady Romayne Aileen BRABAZON d of 14th Earl of MEATH 1910-98 and Elizabeth Mary 1913-2009 d of Capt Geoffrey Vaux Salvin BOWLBY 1883-ka1915 scion of that gentry family of Culverthorpe Hall and Hon Lettices ANNESLEY CVO 1885-1988 d of 11th Viscount VALENTIA 1843-1927, and had a son and a dau as above.
