This follows: Peerage & Baronetage deaths & births, 2024 (Peerage News Group)
8 years of work on this can be found here: Peerage & Baronetage deaths & births (Google Docs) - previous years have received updates on the Google Doc only.

Corrections and updates are very gratefully received. I confess I have not done as much checking of this list as I would like - I know that at times I have been distracted by other events in life, so haven't diligently read & recorded each thread of relevance.  I am particularly worried that I have missed births of heirs.

Inevitably a few more deaths will come to light during the last few days of the year and into the new year.   I am now including various categories of deaths (peers, baronets, heirs, centenarians and Joint LGCs), and births of those likely to succeed to titles.

Thank you marquess - I should acknowledge I took part in the discovery of those sons!  My feeble excuse is that I listed the death and no heirs in my notes, and then set about trying to find an heir, was successful and didn't update my notes!

Curious pattern in 2025 with no hereditary peerages changing hands in July,August,October and December but five within two weeks in November.

As we enter the seventh year of the decade no non royal Dukedoms since 2019.

Interestingly 2019 had the lowest number of hereditary peerage deaths in recent times with just eleven whist the highest twenty eight in 2023.

Bremen,

I have the deaths as 30 in 2023 [29 if you don't count the disclaimed Earl of Selkirk] and 13 in 2019.  Quite often deaths come to light some time after the event and I don't necessarily note them on the relevant thread here, but I do keep the above documents up to date.

In both years there were late December deaths not included on the original lists

Peerage & Baronetage deaths & births (Google Docs) has now been updated with all 2025 events that I am aware of.  I will add directly to the Google Doc if further events come to our attention.

Very curious patterns over these nine years. Two non royal Dukes succeeded within just over a fortnight in 2017,then just one more in August 2019 and none at all since!
