From the Times of 4 Dec 2024: CECIL Benjamin David Amherst passed away on 29th November 2024, aged 56, at home with his family in Los Angeles. Loving husband to Kristy and father to Francesca and Hugo. He will be greatly missed by family, friends and the horse racing community. Funeral in LA. Details of memorial in UK to follow.

He was s of David Henry Amherst CECIL 1943-2000 (gt gs of The Baroness AMHERST OF HACKNEY 1857-1919, as well 2xgt gs of 3^rd Marquess of EXETER 1825-95, etc etc) and his 1^st w Hon Fiona Elixabeth Cameron CORBETT d of 2ne Baron ROWALLAN 1895-1977 and Gwyn Mervyn 1899-1971 d of Joseph Bowman GRIMOND 1875-1929 (jute manufacturer, f of the LP Baron GRIMOND 1913-93) and Lydia Helen RICHARDSON 1875-1953. He m 1^st 1998 (div 200_) Jenine d of Fred SAHADI of California; he m 2^nd 2006 Kristy d of Bill WUNSCH of Pennsylvania, by whom he has a son and a dau as above.
