From the Telegraph of 6 November 2018: de CLIFFORD John Edward Southwell Russell, 27th Baron de Clifford. Passed away, aged 90, at Riggledown on Friday 2nd November 2018. He was the farming grandson of Mrs Kate Meyrick and Eva Chandler and married Bridget Robertson in 1959. He was much adored by his nephew Miles and his wife Marion and Edward and Grace, with the rest of the family, his friends and carers. A Service of Thanksgiving at St Michael and all Angels Church, Poughill on Wednesday 21st November at 12 noon. No flowers. Donations if wished to SPANA.

He was s of 26th Baron DE CLIFFORD (1907-82) and Dorothy Evelyn (1901-87) d of Ferdinand Richard Holmes MEYRICK (c1868-1940) and Katherine Evelyn NASON (1875-1933, scion of the CROFTS (Nason) Irish gentry family). He m 1959 Bridget Jennifer (b 1935 reg Denbighshire) d of Duncan ROBERTSON (1900-87) and Joyce WILLIAMS-WYNN (1906-95), scion of the Bts of that name. No issue. He is succeeded by his 1st cousin:

He was s of Hon William Southwell RUSSELL (1930-2013, s of 26th Baron) and Jean Brodie (b 1940) d of Neil Brodie HENDERSON (1904-82, scion of the barons FARINGDON), and Conn (1902-79, d of Adml Sir Charles Edward MADDEN 1st Bt (1862-1935 cr UK 1919, ext 2001) and Constance Winifred (1879-1964) d of Sir Charles CAYZER 1st Bt). He m 1995 Marion Elaine (b 1966 reg Birmingham) d of Derek W ARKLEY (b 1933 reg Birmingham) of Bourneville, Birmingham by his 1962 m (reg Q2 Birmingham) to Jean CARTLEDGE [?b 1933 reg Birmingham], and has issue:

Delighted to see that 1920s legend Mrs Kate Meyricke mentioned. I'll have to reaquaint myself with how many daughters she married into the peerage and the 'criminality' that financed it.

DPB online states that the 28th Baron's sisters Mary-Jane HOWE and Joanna RUSSELL have been raised to the the rank of a Baron's daughters though no date is given.  I must have missed the notice in the Gazette - I do try to check it each day.  I have tried to search the Gazette but I must admit I don't find their search facility very easy to use.
