From the Times of 31 Aug 2024: THE LORD J. D. C. HARLECH AND MISS I. H. Y. LAI - The marriage took place on 8th August 2024, at Islington Town Hall, between Jasset and Ida who were joined by family and friends to mark the happy occasion.

The 7^th Baron HARLECH b 1 July 1986 s of 6^th Baron HARLECH 1954-2016 and Amanda Jane b 1958 reg Q2 London d of Alan Thomas GRIEVE b 1928 by his 1957 m reg Q2 Surrey to his 1^st w Anne 1930-2016 d of Lawrence DULAKE 1901-97 of Reigate, Surrey by his 7 Oct 1926 m (St Saviour, Hampstead) to Nina Lettice Dix 1898-1987 d of the Scottish portrait artist Charles Kay ROBERTSON 1860-1939 and Jane Falconer WALTERS 1859-1941.

This is good news for the young, heirless Baron.

Here in the US, we came to know the HARLECH (ORMSBY GORE)  name because of the 5th Baron, the current baron's grandfather.

The 5th Baron, (William) David (1918-1985) , the British Ambassador to the US,  was a close friend of President and Mrs. Kennedy.  After JFK's assassination, he remained friends with Mrs. Kennedy, a relationship that eventually became romantic.  Supposedly, he proposed to her in 1968, and she turned him down.  They both went on to wed others.

Hopefully, with this good news of the 7th Baron's marriage, the HARLECH  line will continue.
