2nd Baron Robertson of Oakridge (1930-2009)

The 2nd Baron Robertson of Oakridge died at his home, 18 January,
2009. He was 78.

William Ronald Robertson was born 8 Dec, 1930, son of the 1st Baron
Robertson of Oakridge, GCB, GBE, KCMG, KCVO, DSO, MC (1896-1974), and
a grandson of Field Marshal Sir William Robertson, 1st Baronet, GCB,
GCMG, GCVO, DSO (1860-1933); educated at Charterhouse; Career:-.Major,
Royal Scots Greys; succeeded to the peerage (cr 1961) and baronetcy
(cr 1919), on his father's demise, 1974; married 1972, Celia Jane
Elworthy, by whom he had issue, a son & heir, the Hon William Brian
Elworthy Robertson, b 15 Nov, 1975.
Thanksgiving Service at St Giles' Church, Cripplegate, London, EC2, on
Monday 11 May 2009, and afterwards at Salters' Hall, EC2.
