She was the dau of Sir William Henry Charles Wemyss Cooke 10th Baronet of Wheatley Hall Yorks (E 1661) (1872-1964) and (as his 2nd w -  m 1927) Margaret (d 1964) dau of Richard ROSS.  She m 1968 Group Capt Cecil Edgar Arthur GARTON OBE (d 1993) of Quinta da Boa Vista, Funchal, Madeira.  They had a son and a dau.

Betty Garton passed away in Funchal, Madeira today. She was Sir William Cooke's daughter and lived there since the 1960s.
She managed Quinta da Bela Vista, an old farm that has belonged to her deceased husband's family for a long time where she kept an important orchid collection."
