He was s of Peter Noel DE BUNSEN b 1935 scion of not descended from the Bt of that name. Also gt gs of Sir Thomas Fowell BUXTON 3rd Bt GCMG 1837-1915 (by his w a dau of 1st Earl of GAINSBOROUGH 1781-1866) and scion of the SMITH Scots gentry family of Jordanhall, and Hon Alexandra CARINGTON b 1943 d of 6th Baron CARRINGTON KG 1919-2018 (descended from the ABEL SMITH family with all the kinships - royal and noble - that implies) and Iona Ellen 1920-2009 d of Lt-Col Sir Francis Kennedy MCCLEAN AFC 1876-1955 and Aileen WALE 1890-1973.

 Since the family is not in modern British genealogical works, I post the genealogy I have. Most of the family wound up in Britain and used the form “de Bunsen”. There were also some early marriages to German nobles.
