From the Telegraph of 29 April 2020: McLAREN Nancy Gordon (née Ralston) on 25th April 2020, aged 98, peacefully at home after a short illness. Very loving widow of Martin, darling mother of Richard, Francis and Patrick, mother-in-law, step-grandmother and great-grandmother of Diana, Hugh and Kasper. She will be greatly missed by a host of family and friends including many Garden Scholars from Britain, the USA and Europe. Private funeral. A Service of Thanksgiving will be planned for a future date.

She was d of Gordon Springer RALSTON (1896-1932 b&d Canada) by his 1920 m to Nita Josephine (1898-1974, having m 2nd 1933 Philip Cator) d of Henry (Harry) William Radcliff TISDALL (1864-1926) and Marie Alice FITCH (1869-). She m 1943 Maj Martin John (1914-79) s of Lt Hon Francis Walter Stafford McLAREN (1886-1917) s of 1st Baron ABERCONWAY (1850-1934), and Barbara (1886-1973) d of Col Sir Herbert JEKYLL KCMG (1846-1932) and Dame Agnes DBE (1861-1937) d of William GRAHAM MP (1817-85) and Jane Catherine LOWNDES (1820-99) scion of the Scots gentry family of that name of Arthurlie, and had three sons as above, of whom Rev Richard Francis McLAREN (b 1946) survives her.

From the Times of 13 April 2024: MCLAREN: A memorial concert for Mrs Martin McLaren (Nancy) and the Rev Richard McLaren will be held in Coventry Cathedral on 18th May 2024 at 3pm. The concert is free and all family and friends are welcome.
