From the Telegraph of 10 March 2022: CLIVE Colin George, passed away peacefully in Chelsea Court Place on  7th March 2022, aged 85. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.  A memorial service will be held in May, on a date that is yet to be confirmed. Please contact Barnes & Sons, Askew Road ... after 14th March for further information.

He was s of Peter Julian CLIVE 1906-78 (s of Rt Hon Sir Robert Henry CLIVE GCMG 1877-1948 scion of that gentry family of Whitfield (and gs of 7th Earl of DENBIGH 1796-1865 and gt gs of 1st Earl DUCIE 1776-1840 etc) and Hon Magdalen MUIR MACKENZIE 1884-1971 d of 1st & only Baron MUIR MACKENZIE 1845-1930) and Elizabeth Joy 1913-78 d of Brig-Gen William Harry Verelst DARELL 1878-1954 (s of Sir Lionel Edward DARELL 5th Bt 1845-1919 & f of the 7th Bt)) and Eva Jeffie BAINBRIDGE CBE 1881-1966.

Eva Jeffie Bainbridge was the daughter of Emerson Muschamp BAINBRIDGE (5 XII 1845 - 12 V 1911), MP (Liberal) for Gainsborough 1895-1900, and his first wife (married 9 IV 1874), Eliza Jefferson ARMSTRONG (c.1848 - 16 I 1892). "Jeffie" was Mr Bainbridge's nickname for his wife.

Emerson Muschamp BAINBRIDGE was married secondly, in 1898, to (as her first husband) Norah Mossom MERRYWEATHER (5 III 1880 - 1979), by whom he had another daughter, Patricia Merryweather BAINBRIDGE (8 XII 1906 - 20 I 2001), who was married on 28 November 1938 to (as his second wife) Lt-Gen Charles Willoughby Moke NORRIE, 1st Baron Norrie (26 IX 1893 - 25 V 1977).
