Alan Lindsay SANDERSON was the son of 1st Baron SANDERSON OF AYOT (1894 - 1971) and Evelyn Constance ISMAY (1897 - 1940), dau of J Bruce ISMAY (1862 - 1937), scion of that gentry family f/o Dawpool.

He m 1959 Gertrud (Trudi) BOSCHLER (died 2016) and had issue: 1 son and 4 daus. (some sources, including thepeerage, have misidentified his dau Evelyn as a son)

His only son succeeds him: Michael SANDERSON, (3rd Baron SANDERSON OF AYOT), though it is unknown whether he will prove his claim. He was born 1971, and attended a US university.  It is unclear where he is currently resident, though he is listed as unm by Debrett's online.

The heir presumptive, and only heir listed in Debrett's online, is Basil SANDERSON (born 1974), son of Hon Murray Lee SANDERSON (1931 - 2017), 2nd son of the 1st Baron.  Basil is shown unm.  However, Murray's obit lists him as having 3 grandchildren, none of whom are listed in Debrett's Online, so there is a chance of an heir not known to us.

The only disclaimed peerage now is the Barony of Silkin

The above page indicates that Michael SANDERSON has some connections to Warsaw, Poland, and this identification is confirmed on this page due to the reference to Wharton School & his MBA.  With this in mind, social media checks indicate that he is married to Kaśka Tomczyk.  Possibly has issue, though my Polish is non-existent, so not really sure!

Other updates not on Debrett's Online:

Evelyn SANDERSON (born 1961) m 1996 Martin REED (this is reflected in the database) appears to have issue: 1 son, 1 dau who both have the surname REED SANDERSON

Andrea SANDERSON (born 1964) m 1993 Salvador CARRASCO (this is reflected in the database) appears to have issue: 2 sons & 1 dau.

Stephanie SANDERSON (born 1970) with John MULLINS has had issue: a son, born 2019.  There is no indication they have married (she has not taken his name), but I don't discount that possibility as she may have retained her maiden name for professional reasons.

Henry, I have a Polish friend who might provide a translation if I buy him a drink.  If you point me in the right direction I'll see what I can find out.

Thanks Henry. I've found registrations for births of Evelyn's and Stephanie's children. But I can't find the registrations for the CARRASCO births. Where did you find them?

Regarding the Polish translations - his whole social media was in Polish.  Really I just need to do google translate on it bit by bit to see if there are any indications, though this will just give the jist, its not a substitute for a proper translation.  I don't have a specific block of text to look at.

All my indications for issue of the disclaimed 2nd Baron's dau were from social media - I had not checked them against the GRO.  In the case of the CARRASCO family, I think the births were probably outside the UK - I think the family are currently in California.

Can I have clarification on the year of birth for Michael Sanderson. In my Burkes Peerage, 106th edition states Michael was born 6 December 1959.

maltagenealogy,

1959 in the year of birth in both my Debrett's print edition and in DPB Online.

I don't have the exact date though.

Apologies Malta - my error with 1971 - I think I substituted the death of the 1st Baron for the new 3rd Baron's YoB!

Debrett's database has been updated with the death of the disclaimed 2nd Baron, and his sister Hon Pauline MATARASSO.

It shows the 3rd Baron has 2 daus.  It would appear the heir presumptive and only person in remainder is Basil (son of Hon Murray, ante).  No grandchildren of Hon Murray are listed, but his obit did mention 3 grandchildren, so there may be a further heir.
