He was s of Leopold Richard SEYMOUR 1912-2000 (3xgt gs of 1 Marquess of HERTFORD 1718-94, as well 2xgt gs of 7 Duke of GRAFTON 1821-1918, gt gs of 3 Baron SOUTHAMPTON 1804-72, 2xgt gs of 1 Baron NUGENT d 1864, etc etc) and Sheila Isabel Adelaide 1920-99 d of Col Arnold Charles Paul BUTLER CBE 1890-1972 and Violet Frances Gertrude Abel 1893-1972 d of Abel Henry SMITH 1862-1930 sometime head of that gentry family of Woodhall Park and Hon Isabella Anna BROWNLOW 1864-1935 d of 2 Baron LURGAN 1831-82 and Hon Emily Anne BROWNE 1833-1923 d of 3 Baron KILMAINE 1794-1873 (as well gt gd of The Baroness WATERPARK 1740-1807, etc).

He m first 1971 (div 1978) his fifth cousin once removed Emma Mary b 1950 d of Robert Alistair HENDERSON d 1999 and Bridget Elizabeth 1921-99 d of Col John George LOWTHER 1885-1977 (gs of Sir Charles Hugh LOWTHER 3 Bt 1803-94) and Hon Lilah Charlotte Sarah WHITE 1889-1976 d of 3 Baron ANNALY 1857-1922 and Hon Lilah Georgiana Augusta AGAR-ELLIS d of 3 Viscount CLIFDEN 1825-66 and Eliza Horatia Frederica SEYMOUR 1833-96 (gt gd of 1 Marquess of HERTFORD 1718-94), no issue. 

He m second 1979 (div 1998) Camilla Madelaine Gerard b 1952 d of Col William Henry Gerard LEIGH 1915-2008 sometime head of that gentry family of Thorpe Satchville Hall and Nancy Jean 1923-2012 d of Wing Cdr Sir Norman Roderick Alexander David LESLIE 8 Bt 1889-1937 and Betty Elise 1900-81 d of John Thomas Beadsworth SEWELL CBE c1858-1930 and Madeleine MAYER 1869-, and had a dau. 

He m third 1998 Hon Georgina Frances BAILLIE b 1955 d of 3 Baron BURTON 1924-2013 and his 1 w Elizabeth Ursula Forster 1924-93 d of Capt Anthony Forster WISE 1885-1976 and Eva Elizabeth Glentworth BAILLIE 1904-76 scion of that Scots gentry family of Dochfour.

Robert Alistair HENDERSON (4 XI 1917 - 25 XI 1999) was of that landed gentry family, formerly of Sedgwick Park, Horsham, Sussex. His mother was the only daughter of Sir William Francis CLERKE, 11th Bt (16 I 1856 - 27 VII 1930), and his sister was the first wife of the 7th Earl Fortescue.
