The only surviving son of the 9th Duke is his third and youngest son
Lord Roger Manners (b. 1925) whose younger daughter Phoebe announced
her engagement some months back.
Is his elder sister Lady Ursula d'Abo (b. 1916) still alive aged 92?
She was reported as living in 2003. Her second husband (md 1951) was
Robert Erland Nicolai d'Abo (1911-1970), of West Wratting Park,
Cambs; and had been previously married as well. They had issue, 2
sons and 1 daughter
a) (John) Henry Erland d'Abo (b. 7 October 1953) who purchased West
Wrattling Park from his siblings in 1983 (they apparently inherited
joint shares); he is married, and he and his wife attended the
memorial service for the Hon Sir Angus Ogilvy in March 2005.
b) Louisa Jane d'Abo (b. 8 January 1955) md 1981 Hon John Patrick
Ramsay (b. 1952) 3rd and yst son of the 16th Earl of Dalhousie, and
has issue 1 son and 1 daughter
c) Richard Winston Mark d'Abo (b. 3 Jul 1956), possibly now living in
the United States as a financier. The age fits.
Robert Erland Nicolai d'Abo was elder or eldest son of Gerard Louis
d'Abo (1884-1962) by his 1st wife (md 1909) Muriel Molesworth
Kindersley (1880-1921), 3rd dau of the 5 daus of Edward Nassau
Molesworth Kindersley, son of Nathaniel William Kindersley, a Judge of
the Madras High Court (Madras Presidency). Muriel was sister of
Robert Molesworth Kindersley (1871-1954), 1st Baron Kindersle, so not
a scion, but rather a sibling or a collateral. That makes Robert
d'Abo a first cousin of the 2nd Baron Kindersley.
