_.Maj Ivan Charles Straker, late the 11th Hussars (PAO), who died at his home 20 May, 2013, was a scion of the landed family of Straker of Stagshaw. He was born in 1935, son of Maj Arthur Coppin Straker (1893-1961), by his wife the former Cicely Longueville Heywood-Jones, scion of that landed family, former wife of Maj Joseph Charles Hunter, MC, and 5th daughter of Lt.-Col. Richard Heywood Heywood-Jones (1853-1900), of Badsworth, Yorkshire, by his wife Caroline Margaret Johnston, dau of Francis John Johnston, of Dunsdale, Westerham, Kent, by his wife Caroline, dau of Sir Hardman Earle, Bt. 

Maj Ivan Straker was m. and leaves issue. Married 24 Apr 1954, Gillian Elizabeth, yr dau of Lewis Grant and Mrs W.Smith Grant, of Glenlivet, and Orton House, Orton, Morayshire. daughter Clare was b 23 Jul 1960.

Straker: -Ivan Charles, died peacefully at home on 20th May 2013. Beloved Husband of Tizzy and much loved Father of Hugo, Clare, Tom and the late Simon. A loving Grandfather. Service of Thanksgiving at Hexham Abbey on Thursday 6th June at 2.30pm. No flowers but donations to Injured Jockeys’ Fund.

He was divorced from his 1st wife in 1971. 2 sons and 1 daughter from this marriage (inc one son who predeceased him); married 2ndly, 1976 (div 1986) Sally Jane Hastings, and thirdly, in 1998, Rosemary Anne "Tizzy" Whitaker, who survives him.
