The usual notes, on the Langlands family:

C. J. G. Langlands of Hartgrove House, Shaftesbury, Dorset, Maj. Royal Armoured Corps, director, Langlands Tree Services (logging, forestry, etc), only child of Percy Christopher Langlands (1903-1986), of The Old Forge, Kingston near Lewes, E. Sussex, Maj., Lancashire Fusiliers by his wife (m. 1946) Prudence V. (1918-), dau. of George M. Wilson by his wife Catherine Florence (1888-), dau. of Edward Henry Corse-Scott, of the 6th Royal Warwickshire Regiment (s. of Edward William Buller Corse-Scott and Catherine Charlotte, dau. of Maj. Vanrenen, Bengal Horse Artillery) by his wife Emily Sarah Henrica, dau. of Henry Pearce, of Soperwood Manor, Hants [CORSE-SCOTT of Synton, Lanarks. treated in BLG 1937, also 1898 edn, to which I referred]

P. C. Langlands only child of Percy Langlands (1867-1914), of Quatre Bras House, St Helier, Jersey, formerly of Cox's Edge Farm, Epsom, Surrey, Maj., West India Regiment, by his wife (m. 1901) Daisy Emily (1884-), dau. of Charles Christopher Braithwaite (1850-1938), of Rosemead, Church Road, Horley, Surrey, formerly of Granville Road, Sidcup, Kent, formerly of Norwood, Surrey, mechanical engineer.

Percy Langlands youngest s. of Charles John Lawrence Langlands (1823-1889), of Caithness Lodge, Worple Road, Epsom, auctioneer and builder emp. 16 men and two boys (Langlands, 135-137, High Street, Epsom), clerk of the course at Epsom Racecourse, by his first wife (m. 1851) Elizabeth (1829-1881), dau. of Moses Hands. C. J. L. Langlands and his wife had seven sons, of whom the sixth, Walter Gerald (seems to have reversed the order of his birth names) [1862-1924], of Hazon House, West Hill, Epsom, took over the family business, and was chairman of Epsom Urban District Council 1902-4, a racehorse owner (and co-proprietor of the Langlands stand at Epsom Downs, as well as clerk of the course).

C. J. L. Langlands second s. of Lawrence Langlands (1797-1867), of High Street, Epsom, a carpenter and joiner who became an auctioneer and builder, founding the business based at 135-137, High Street, Epsom mentioned above. He was a churchwarden at St Martin of Tours Church, Epsom. His wife (m. 1820) was Rebecca, dau. of - Cole. Lawrence Langlands's second son, Augustus William (1830-1886) joined his elder brother in the family business. There was a third son, Edwin Richard, in addition to three daughters. Birth records indicate Lawrence Langlands to have been son of John Langlands, of Epsom, by his wife Sarah; he had an elder brother, John, born 1794, and I suspect the William Langlands of Epsom b. 1799 to be another brother, but have not yet confirmed this.
