We are very sad to announce the death of The Honourable Dame Shân Legge-Bourke DCVO CstJ who died peacefully at home surrounded by all her children.

‘We are devastated to lose our mother. She was an inspiration to us all, and to many people she met over her years of service to Wales, and the countless organisations and institutions she supported. A country girl at heart, she has left an indelible legacy at Glanusk, the wider countryside and beyond.’

The only child of Wilfred Russell Bailey, 3rd Baron Glanusk (27 June 1891 – 12 January 1948) and Margaret Eldrydd (nee Shoubridge).

Shân married Captain William Legge-Bourke in 1964, Legge-Bourke was the son of Major

Sir Harry Legge-Bourke.

They had three children

Captain Harry Russell Legge-Bourke (born 1972)

Her husband William Nigel Henry LEGGE-BOURKE (1939 - 2009) was a scion of the DARTMOUTH earls (descended from the 2nd son of the 5th Earl) and a Joint Lord Great Chamberlain (1/20th share).
