He was s of John Mackarness BOOKER (1910-86) by his 1934 m (reg Q3 London) to Margaret Mary WESTON (1913-91). He m 1st 1963 (div 1968) as her 2nd h Hon Emma Christina TENNANT (1937-2017) d of 2nd Baron GLENCONNER (1899-1983) and his 2nd w Elizabeth (d 2014) d of Lt-Col Evelyn George Harcourt POWELL (1883-1961) and Phyllis Olive Barbara PRYOR (1887-1953), no issue. He m 2nd 1982 (reg Q2 London, later annulled) Christine M (b c1951 reg Q1 Yorkshire) d of Tom VERITY (1921-97) by his c1950 m (reg Q1 Yorkshire) to Betty HATFIELD (1929-2000). He m 3rd 1979 (reg Q4 Somerset) Valerie M (b 1942 reg Q3 Surrey) d of Charles Skelton PATRICK (1913-77) by his 1939 m (reg Q2 Surrey) to Mary E SKIPPER (b c1918 reg Q1 Surrey), and had two sons, Nicholas John C[hristopher] C (b 1979 reg Q4 Somerset) and Alexander Patrick C[hristopher] (b 1981 reg Q2 Avon).

Christopher Booker, journalist, was born on October 7, 1937. He died of cancer on July 3, 2019, aged 81...
Christopher John Penrice Booker was born in 1937 in Somerset. His parents, John and Margaret Booker, ran a private prep school in Ilminster that they subsequently moved to Knighton House, Dorset.
He was one of three children, and his sisters suffered tragic ends: Joanna committed suicide in 1976 and Serena was murdered while on holiday in Thailand in 1982....
...in 1963 ... he married Emma Tennant, the daughter of Lord and Lady Glenconner, and the half-sister of Colin Tennant, sometime suitor of Princess Margaret...
He was out of sorts with so much of the modern world, so it was perhaps fitting that he made his home in an old rectory in Somerset, where he lived with his third wife, Valerie (née Patrick). They married in 1979 after the annulment of his second marriage to Christine Verity, who was remarried to the historian Norman Stone. He is survived by Valerie and their two sons: Nicholas, an educationist, and Alexander, a lighting designer....

From the Telegraph of 6 July 2019: BOOKER Christopher John Penrice, died aged 81, on Tuesday 2nd July 2019, at home in Litton, with his family by his side. His Funeral and Service of Thanksgiving, will be held at the Church of St Mary, Litton, Somerset, on Thursday 11th July at 2.30 p.m.
