He was s of Capt Francis Jack CARTWRIGHT CVO OBE RN 1908-74 and Suzanne Elsie 1914-2001 d of Edgar GROTRIAN 1872-1949 (s of Frederick Brent GROTRIAN 1838-1905 who was f of Sir Herbert Brent GROTRIAN 1^st Bt 1870-1951) and Elsie Mary FRAZER 1879-1960. He m 1970 reg Q3 Surrey Elizabeth A b 1945 reg Q3 Surrey d of Lt-Col Marcus Bertram Pemberton STEDALL OBE 1905-82 scion of that gentry family of Billington Manor by his 1936 m reg Q3 Westminster to Audrey Wishart COTTAM 1910-99, and had issue
