Hi all,

I hope everyone had a nice and relaxing summer.
I'd like to draw your attention to, and invite your participation in, two initiatives:

1. Symposium at CAL '09
http://patternlanguagenetwork.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Groups.EuroPLoPPedPat/CAL09
CAL09 – Learning in Digital Worlds, March 23-25th 2009, Brighton
Abstract deadline: 26 September 2008
http://www.cal-conference.elsevier.com

Till has taken the first stab at an abstract for the symposium. Instead of editing that, I've added an anti-thesis. Would someone like to try his / her hand at synthesis? If you find the venue and the symposium theme appealing, please add yourself as participant (on the wiki page). Once we agree on the general line, we'll need about 3 papers to go under it.

2. paper for CERME 6
http://patternlanguagenetwork.myxwiki.org/xwiki/bin/view/Groups.EuroPLoPPedPat/cerme6
http://cerme6.univ-lyon1.fr/
Sixth Conference of European Research in Mathematics Education
Lyon, France - Jan.,28th - Feb.,1 , 2009
Deadline: 15 Sept

If you're into maths education, CERME is a great conference to attend. Its structured in a much more collaborative, un-conferency way than most - somewhat similar to EuroPLoP. I'm thinking of putting in a paper on design patterns as a methodological tool for research in mathematics education. I would be happy to co-author it with anyone who has experience in this particular domain.

cheers,

- Yishay
