Dear Colleagues and Members of the Digital Soil Mapping Working Group,

I am in the process of preparing our Working Group's 2025 Annual Report for the IUSS Division 1 Chair, Dr. Richard Heck. This report will be presented at the IUSS Council Meeting in December.

To ensure this report fully captures the outstanding work and widespread activity of our entire community, I need your help.

I kindly ask you to send me any significant contributions or activities from 2025 that you believe should be included.

What to Submit

I am specifically looking for updates that fit the following categories (which are required by the report template)

  1. Events Realized or Recent Activities. Have you organized, hosted, or been a key part of a workshop, training session, webinar, or symposium related to Digital Soil Mapping this year?
  2. Planned Future Events/Activities. Are you organizing or leading a DSM-related workshop, conference session, or training course in 2026?
  3. Key Publications. Have you published a high-impact paper, book, book chapter, or edited a special issue in 2025 that is central to the work of our WG?
  4. Other Major Achievements (Relevant Narrative). This can include major new research projects, significant grants awarded, development of new open-source software/tools, or new large-scale collaborations.

How to Submit

When you send your items, please include a brief note on the 1) purpose, 2) date, 3) location, and 4) key outputs (e.g., a link to the publication, the event website, or the number of participants)

DEADLINE: End of Day, Tuesday, November 11th

I apologize for the extremely short notice. My deadline to submit the compiled report to the Division Chair is November 12th.

A Quick Favor: Please Forward This

The mailing list  may not include everyone active in our community. Please forward this email to any colleagues, collaborators, or research groups who you feel have made major contributions to DSM this year. I want to give everyone an opportunity to be included.

Thank you for your valuable contributions. Your input is essential for showcasing the full impact and dynamism of our global DSM community.

Best regards,
