Dear Colleagues,

The Soils and Landscapes Research Group at Australia’s National Science Agency CSIRO is looking for a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow in Digital Soil Health Benchmarking. This 3-year position is open to domestic and international applicants and provides an opportunity to early career researchers who have completed their doctorate and have less than three years of relevant postdoctoral work experience. The position is part of an industry-funded GRDC project (CSP2504-015RTX) which aims to standardise soil health across Australian agriculture.

In partnership with a diverse research team, the Postdoctoral Fellow will develop a soil health framework for Australian agricultural production systems. The Fellow will be a broad soil systems thinker and have a strong interest in using spatial approaches to solve challenges in measuring, valuing and reporting the status of Australia’s soil resources. Pedometric and data-driven tools will be used to develop Australian-specific soil health indicators and to create regionally tailored, quantitative methods for soil health scoring and benchmarking.

The position is ideal for early-career researchers passionate about applied soil science, agri-innovation, and delivering practical outcomes for Australia’s farming sector.

Applications are open till 12 November 2025, 11:00pm Australian Eastern Standard Time

Full details and selection criteria to be addressed for the position can be found here: https://jobs.csiro.au/job-invite/100852/

Thank you for sharing this exciting opportunity across your networks!
