In the licensed package, an update to the TTF and OTF 2D fonts was released to better display on multiple devices and printers. Updated encoders like VBA Macros, Crystal Reports Formulas, with optimized algorithms, and added Excel Encoder app as well as Mail Merge Example.

GS1 update resolves an issue where a second FNC1 would be encoded as a instead of the actual FNC1 character. This update was made to the following encoders: Crystal Reports, .NET Components, UFL, JavaScript, Java, C++ .h file, LibreOffice VB and Microsoft Office VBA.

This QR-Code package generates QR-Code symbols with font encoders and graphic encoders. IDAutomation's QR-Code software products support byte, text, and numeric encoding modes according to QR Code 2005, ISO/IEC 18004:2006, and ISO/IEC 18004:2015 specifications. Because many scanners and decoders cannot easily read large symbols, IDAutomation suggests limiting the data encoded in a QR-Code barcode to 800 characters or less.

Multiple encoders in the QR-Code generator software provide more options for integration into various applications and environments. It is necessary to use an encoder because of the complexity of QR-Code encoding and error correction algorithms. Font encoders return a text string that will generate a readable QR-Code barcode when combined with the appropriate QR-Code 2D font. The features chart below lists the encoders provided within each package.

Components labeled "Legacy" do not contain features added in 2019 or later such as the ability to encode GS1 and Image Overlay (Center Override). The complete source code for any single compiled encoder, such as the .NET Windows Forms Control, for example, may be provided by request after the purchase of an Unlimited Developer License.

My company was in need of a way to create dynamic QR codes on the fly to print on Renewal notices that would take customers directly to a personalized web page. The QR-Code Font and Encoder Suite product we purchased did the trick. Easily integrated into Crystal Reports by way of a formula provided, which simply reads a data field and converts to the proper QR code. I was literally testing within 1/2 hour of purchase. Many other formulas/encoders were included that integrate into Excel, Word and other applications. Very happy with the cost and would recommend to others looking to do the same.

Currently using in an Excel application for our batching system in our factory. We may be looking at using it in Crystal Reports soon. It was relatively easy to follow the Excel tutorial on your website. I believe Nate from the Sales staff is the only person I've dealt with so far, and he was very helpful in helping me select the correct license.

I am using your product to produce a QR Code from Crystal Reports so the college can product a label to stick onto a student assessment, paper based, to allow filing and retrieval for moderation. 1D barcodes were not able to contain the information (and would have had scan errors) and I had tried another prodcut for 2D codes but their QR Code was always corrupted so was very happy when your solution worked. The QR Code is only one part of the workflow, the process has saved the teaching staff hours in that they don't have to manually save and file documents. We will probably produce about 3,000 labels a year. Installation was relatively straightforward, although I tripped myself up with the package I installed, Ben with your technical support staff was helpful in providing assistance.

I have my QR-codes already in the report of my Access database. It was exactly the type of tool I was looking for. It is one cornerstone for my application, which is not implemented right now but progressing. Thank you.

The Crystal Reports font encoders have the following features:

So I simply installed it using sudo pip install pyqrcode. The thing I find strange about the example code above however, is that it only imports qrcode (and not pyqrcode though) Since I think qrcode refers to this library which can only generate qr-code images it kind of confused me. So I tried the code above with both pyqrcode and qrcode, but both fail at the second line saying AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'Decoder'. Furthermore, the website refers to Ubuntu 8.10 (which came out more than 6 years ago) and I can't find a public (git or other) repository of it to check the latest commit. So I moved on to the next library:

ZBar (website here) claims to be "an open source software suite for reading bar codes from various sources, such as image files." So I tried installing it on Mac OSX running sudo pip install zbar. This fails with error: command 'cc' failed with exit status 1. I tried to suggestions in the answers to this SO question, but I can't seem to solve it. So I decided to move on again:
