No politics, just cycling.....

So without starting over...
I want to take this route
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/4575254

But instead take Stokes Airport Rd (at about mile 39.5), Laing, & Wakeman Mill to get to Mtn Rd almost at Fort Valley Rd.  It cuts out a few miles and reduces traffic significantly.   And while it won't allow us to catch up - it won't make us finish quite as far behind either.  ;-)

Can I do this without starting over?  I can't seem to figure it out.
I have the upgrade version of ridewithgps.

Thanks,
Mariette

Click "edit" at the upper right.  White dots will appear along the route.  Those are where you clicked to make the route.  You can drag them to onto the roads you want to use and the route will be automatically redrawn.  This doesn't always work well depending on how many of those waypoints you made and where they are.

If that doesn't work, you have to click undo as many times as needed to get back to where you want to change the route and then start over with the new route.

You may have to select Add/Delete Control Points and remove any in the
section you want to move, as they anchor the route in place there.

Is it in your name? if not, copy it to your account.  It will ask if you want to view (or edit) your copy.  Say yes, pick edit if the extra step is needed.  You’ll see the route with little circles (the control points.  Over on the right, down below Follow Roads is Add/Remove Control Points.  If the creator overclicked, you may need to remove some of the control points.  Eventually you should be able to click on a the route and drag the black road between 2 control points to another road.  Eventually, after all edits, you save over your route or save to a new route.

If you need more, tomorrow, I can sign on and be a little more accurate with the instruction.....C
