An Aussie dude posted a cool youtube (see below) how to take the silver line to Ashburn to some gravel routes in Loudon Co. Anybody tried this?

I66 and other westbound NoVA traffic has been my greatest obstacle to doing any rides out west. The traffic is brutal and ruins any positive experience of a scenic ride. I really miss rides around Middleburg, the plains, Front Royal but no way am I going to sit in traffic 1 - 2 hours each way.

If the metro to Ashburn is doable then maybe rides out west are a possibility again.

That's Jom.  He's super cool. I first met him at UnPAved of the Susquehanna River Valley -very mountainous misnomer ride - several years ago.  But I've seen him around here a couple of times since.  He has a website called gravelcyclist.com.  Clearly an early adopter to snag that name.  It has a gravel calendar, blogs, reviews, and much more.  One of his first blogs is from 2015 called Divorce from Florida Road Cycling or something along those lines.
