Within 2 mi of a metro station often have bus, bikeshare & scooter share alternatives. Phoenix Bikes and Velocity Bikes in Arlington and Alexandria have many options less than $300. Velocity Alexandria's warehouse sales is June 20. You may also want to look in Facebook groups DC small frames big hearts and DC used bicycle marketplace. Houses of worship also have volunteer-run transportation.

 We are questioning her motivation.  You had to see her expression when we suggested a scooter.
