Rita Z here making a pitch (and recruiting participants) for my series of Saturday rides aimed at in-shape, experienced CC riders who:
1.) like riding longer distances in new and different places.
2.) have grown really, really tired of being dropped from the typical CC ride.

I've been a CC-level PPTC member for 40 years. I met my husband through the club. But I've been saddened by the total disappearance of the classic CC ride, e.g., longer rides that used to launch FROM all over the area -- from Fauquier and Loudoun in Virginia (and even as far as Front Royal) to Thurmont, Jeffersonville and yes, even Poolesville.

So I'm trying to resurrect these GROUP rides.

So far, most participants have been on board. That means -- horrors -- occasionally waiting for slower riders to catch up. But since I make sure that all riders know what's in store for them, I don't think anyone is, ahem, stuck waiting for long. (Get this: on my last ride, the entire  group was willing to stop about five miles into a ride to permit a few of us to take off our jackets!) That's the kind of comradery  I'm trying to restore.

But these rides do move along. The goal is an average 12-13 mile pace.

I'll continue posting these rides as long as there is interest. But next week's ride will be off brand, e.g., on a SUNDAY -- May 10. Watch the calendar for details.

If you are on board with this concept of riding with other riders committed to THIS PACE, join us, won't you?
