Several people on the CRVA distribution list have asked for updates on the proposed Paris Mountain hotel, restaurant, and spa. I have nothing of substance to offer on that topic. I have, however, received information about a Special Meeting of the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors relating to the proposed Paris Mountain resort that will take place Monday, May 4th, at 6:00 pm.
The resort's developers have yet to submit a formal application, so the meeting will not address that project specifically. Instead, the Board will be considering changes to rules and regulations concerning development in western Loudoun. This will include possible modifications to the “Mountain Overlay Districts” in which Blue Ridge is located. One of the topics before the board is whether to reduce the current rule of a 300’ setback buffer zone from streams to 100’ in those mountain overlay districts. It also may discuss future application of the "by-right” provision.
