The Virginia Bicycling Federation is supporting an ambitious bicycling safety agenda during the 2026 Virginia General Assembly session, which starts today, January 14. We’ve met with key VDOT officials and Delegate Willett has agreed to serve as patron for an improved Omnibus Bicycling Safety bill (HB661). Now we need to show Virginia legislators that this is a priority for Virginians everywhere – will you join us in gathering support for the bicycling safety agenda? Act now!
This year could be the year for the initiatives such as Safety Yield (sometimes referred to as Safety Stop). We need 1,000 signatures of supportive Virginians by January 20th – please add your name TODAY.
We’ll keep you updated on the progress of bills as they make their way through the fast-paced committee process and let you know when and how to take effective action throughout the legislative session.
