National Mall caution Jan. 1 -5

You'll want to exercise extreme caution or avoid biking / scootering the national mall's surrounding streets 7:00 - 10:00 pm, especially 15th street bike lane, until January 6. I witnessed much abuse of bike lanes last night, with vehicles, pulling into them and parking to watch the Washington Monument projections. That said, it's stunning large scale art & science.

BTW, who did today's Circle of Cycles,

aka Hains Point pedaling,

today?

I'd noble intentions, willing legs, but a recall of

my 2025-NewYear visit was of a pretty empty field

(but I was met by Butch ere he drove off, 13:15

--pretty mid-day, I'd say).   And otherwise,

I counted but a handful ere I soon noodled back,

It was WINDY last year, but 20^F warmer than

today, which has ample breeze, to boot.

I was there at about 2 pm and did one lap, and saw no bikes at all.  Parking lot was almost empty and the place was pretty much deserted.  At least by then the wind had died down and wasn't too bad.
