Hi I want to change the PS language from English to German but dont know how. Adobe write that I need to exchange my PS but I need to register with a series number for my PS, which I cant find! HELP!!
However, if you hate the CC Desktop app, you can download the Photoshop installer which has all the language packs. Whenever you want a language pack, just run the installer and choose the language you want. It should be there in Photoshop's UI Inter face preference. Change and restart.
gener7, that worked, so now I have the version I want. But how do I cange the language temporarily ?
And also what about updates, since Im not longer 'in control' via CC desktop ? Well didnt download from it ...
Thanks for the swift reply gener7. I have no problem with CC and the "issue" is fixed. What I mentioned above as "reinstall" was probably just updating the language files. I still think that it should have been easier to switch to english version.
You can correct spelling errors by using the context menu with Dynamic Spelling. Potentially misspelled words are underlined based on the dictionary of the text language. If you type text in different languages, select the text and assign the correct language.
thanks Stevekin for the reply.
thats strange. you pay so much for a product and there's no way to change the language ? I really can't understand it.
I assume Adobe admit to act like this, because of their status.

I guess it's a way to protect their investment, in that it stops people in one country from buying it cheaper in another country, or something ;-)
Though it is odd that many languages are available in Bridge and subsequently Camera raw........

I use many Spanish symbols (accents, the over the n, etc). I change the language in the font palette to Spanish and then run spell check. When this doesn't work (proper name, word not in dictionary, etc) I sometimes write out the text in Word in Spanish and copy/paste it in PS.
BTW: I am doing language packs for CS4 and CS5. I have the EN_GB for both CS4 and CS5, however, unfortunately, that if you have installed pt_BR of Photoshop CS5, and you install a en_GB language pack directly, it will show things like:
Just a side note: Interestingly, if you have removed your original language pack (TS case is pt_BR), even if I install Spanish, Korean and English language packs, I can simply switch any of them freely without problems.
As I am still working on CS5 language packs, I wont be releasing them anytime soon (Still have Photoshop, Illustrator, Contribute, Dreamweaver & Fireworks) . Please email me @ [email address deleted by host] for me to hear your request (And I will host my language packs on my blog site.)
Dude its simple it took me a while but i got it go to the american adobe website then download a trial version of of Adobe Photoshop CS5 (or whatever it is in someone else's case) then install it when installing it should have your information otherwise enter it again and when you choose the language you should have a choice of english
And who would re-download the entire few hundred to several GBs of data / installer just to install one of the language that was not installed previous? (Try Adobe Illustrator and you know what I meant)
Actually it does work. You have to download the trial as stated above, then in the application folder, replace the language folder with the trial folder. I replaced pt_BR with en_US. Worked like a charm.
A) Replace the content of the language pack. This is like assuming I got German language pack due to German (de_DE) working environment, but I prefer to use English (Either en_US or en_GB), then I just use my downloaded en_GB to replace the content in de_DE's locale folder. Voila! Task accomplished EXCEPT various internal programs like update message remain as German.
B) Total localization, and you get to keep two languages or more. You just add in a new folder call en_GB on the locale folder, but PS CS5 will refuse it by saying unauthorized language pack and it will revert to allowed language packs. It does NOT happen on CS4 or earlier and my conclusion is that to circumvent this issue, you need to modify the PCD.db (On Windows X64's default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD. X86 user just remove the bracket x86. For Mac, I am not sure.). The PCD.DB is a database file using SQLite. The exact details, it does not sound nice to open secret here. You may want to contact me for details.
If you want to have the default language, close photoshop, go to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Locales\\Support Files (understanding that is your default language) and change the extension of the .dat file to something like .bak. For example if you .dat file is tw1408.dat change it to tw1408.bak. Open photoshop and that is it. This work for CS4 and CS5.
I managed to sort out this little problem of the language package, If you need the English pack email me daniel...@yahoo.co.uk and i will send you the file needed, All you have to do is paste into the locales folder and delete the old one.
I made a suggestion to allow more flexible language switching in Photoshop: _family/topics/photoshop_allow_change_users_to_change_the_ui_... I strongly encourage any user wanting to change the language to go vote there.
Yes you can if you have CS4 enlish language pack...[???]..THis should work for 80% of your menu....This is just a temporary ....suggestion but u wanna might get a true copy of the eng version for full functionality.....
Yes it's even works on Mac too. when i install the photoshop CS5 i only had option to Spanish and some other languages but no English. so i had to use Spanish for installation then after the installation go back and rename the file tw10428.dat to tw10428.bak
Keeping this language choice locked is a drawback for legitimate users over warez ones as it costs 0 to download 2 or more cracked versions... at least international ENG and the localized language of choice should be included in the standard license.
Those of you who are legitimate Photoshop users - you know we're not talking to you. If you are a legitimate user, you should well be supporting those of us speaking to the people who have illegally downloaded a cracked version in a language other than their own!
Possibly this is because pirated versions being limited to a single language cuts down the number of people who would want to download them. Maybe they sell more legitimate copies due to this than they would to multilingual people who would appreciate the ability to legitimately change language at will.
Changing the interface of Photoshop CS5 to another language normally requires the installation of a language pack from the Adobe website. The language packs are free, but only if you downloaded Photoshop from the Adobe website. If you obtained the program from another source, you can't switch to a foreign language without purchasing another copy of Photoshop. However, if you have a foreign-language version of Photoshop CS5, you may be able to change the menus to English by disabling the language data file.
Photoshop and derivatives such as Photoshopped (or just Shopped) have become verbs that are sometimes used to refer to images edited by Photoshop,[33] or any image manipulation program. The same happens not only in English but as the Portuguese Wikipedia entry for image manipulation attests, even in that language, with the trademark being followed by the Portuguese verb termination -ar, yielding the word "photoshopar" (to photoshop). Such derivatives are discouraged by Adobe[7] because, in order to maintain validity and protect the trademark from becoming generic, trademarks must be used as proper nouns.[citation needed]
Next, launch the Photoshop app, which will still be in the default language. Go to Edit, then Preferences, and then click on Interface. Now, change the UI Language to English.
Hello Tim.
I solved the problem with the missing Photoshop 2024 plugin for Photo AI 2.0 this way:
I uninstalled Topaz Photo AI 2.01 and then I uninstalled Photoshop 2024 directly through Adobe Creative Cloud.
Then I restarted the Mac and reinstalled Photoshop. After that, I also reinstalled Photo AI.
This time the plugin was installed correctly under the filters. Downloading and installing the models was also fast and correct as usual.
German language:
Hallo Tim.
Have you ever seen a helicopter charging at a Tesla Supercharger? Probably not. Although Tesla is allowing non-Tesla EVs to charge at some of its charging networks in Europe, this particular photo is a photoshopped image. It was created for a higher purpose.
Up till version Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Photoshop used to be sold in one language only. The English version was a little less expensive than the localized versions. Since Photoshop CC this is different though. Now with regard to language, the program can only be installed in one language. If you would like to change it, below we have the packages of 27 supported languages by Adobe Photoshop CC 2018.
Adobe was founded in December 1982[6] by John Warnock and Charles Geschke, who established the company after leaving Xerox PARC to develop and sell the PostScript page description language. In 1985, Apple Computer licensed PostScript for use in its LaserWriter printers, which helped spark the desktop publishing revolution.[7] Adobe later developed animation and multimedia through its acquisition of Macromedia, from which it acquired Macromedia Flash; video editing and compositing software with Adobe Premiere, later known as Adobe Premiere Pro; low-code web development with Adobe Muse; and a suite of software for digital marketing management.
