MultiBootUSB offered FAQs indicating, among other things, that it offered limited support for UEFI booting, involving the GRUB2 bootloader. The FAQ on that point was not clear to me. Possibly it was saying that support for UEFI booting was limited in the sense that MultiBootUSB itself used syslinux, not GRUB2, and thus some ISOs might not work. Something like that, anyway.

For example there is a program called UNetBootin which can make bootable USB drives, but seems like it only works with various linux distributions. (Tried it with a Win7 image and the SystemRescueCD, which didn't work so well...).

Not asking just specifically about this one case though, I am curious to know a bit more about this in general. So, if you have a general bootable DVD or CD (Or a DVD or CD image for that matter), could be linux distro, windows install disk, support disks, etc., is it possible to "move" it over to a USB drive and make that work like the DVD or CD did? (Being bootable and all).

This tool allows you to create a Windows XP, Windows Vista/7, some Syslinux ISO and some other bootable (even multiboot), including some cool integrated tools from a single GUI (not very pretty), which even allows you to test the bootable USB key in a VM (QEMU) without the need to reboot a machine.

Another option is to have a bootable iso and use a bootloader like syslinux or grub. They can be installed to USB and then load the iso themselves, like here. In this post I've put several examples on how to create a bootable usb containing (but it's not so important here) FreeDOS.

I followed the tutorial and managed to create the disk, I can only execute it from "My computer" but what I want is to properly clean the computer hdd (e.g. with gparted) and start the reinstallation when booting the pc, as I used to do with CD or with linux.

I have tried to install xp to a netbook having linux with using rufus. It seems that flashdisk is a bootable drive now and tries to install xp to the netbook but it gives an error saying " Setup cannot find the end user Licencing Agreement" (EULA) then exiting the setup.

Is there a method to create a multiboot USB with both Windows and Linux ISO files using a Linux machine? (Specifically, I'm on Arch Linux.)I tried multibootusb, multisystem, yumi, syslinux, etc., but couldn't find a clear guide on having both types of ISOs; almost all the guides had one type of ISO and Windows tools. How can I approach this?

I think WinSetupFromUSB is a Windows-only utility? You can try Easy2Boot. There is a .zip file which contains a simple .sh script which you can run from a Bash shell to make make a USB drive. If you use a Removable USB flash drive (not a USB HDD) then you simply copy ISO files onto the USB drive. -an-easy2boot-usb-drive/make-using-linux/

WinSetupFromUSB now also works with many Linux-based ISOs, though - Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS and more - which also gets you support for many antivirus rescue disks. The program can also work with PE and PE2-based images, Syslinux/ Isolinux-compatible discs, and anything else which can handle grub4dos CD emulation (Ultimate Boot CD, Acronis and Paragon boot disks and so on).
