He got this email today from this website zbigz.com thanking him for registering, but he never did. I did what research I could and it is a cloud storage and torrent website. The email included his email address and a password that he does use. The credentials together are his credentials for a Dropbox account that he made a few years ago.

Unfortunately we are not be able to respond you within few days.
We will respond all letters on Monday, 4th of May.

Not sure if its related but a day earlier I had an attempted log in on an account on another site (5 attempts) and this seemed to originate from some IT comms company in China. As i have never had any problem with anything like this in all the time I have been on the internet it struck me as suspicious. Incidentally, the account on the site is actually some site I have not been to in probably 5-7 years.

Twilight Zone theme in the background Hard to be sure but something is definitely amiss. It could be a phishing attempt to get them to logon and hijack the info, or they have been infiltrated and everything is now running amok. Since the IP returns to China, I would not take the chance; wipe it out and start over. A little bit too Orwellian for me. Wow.

Just to be clear in case its a source of confusion. The post I wrote was more about another incident of an attempted hack on my account which took place a day earlier than the Zbigz email I received. It might or might not be related although the fact the password was the same struck me as a bit strange.
