I've uploaded some sample SVG files I made for fancy pecha borders to
the files section of this group.

It would be great if Pecha Publisher could support SVG!

- Right now these can be used in OOorg Writer if you create a table
and set the SVG file as the backgound.

Awesome, thanks! Wow, they loook great. These are for use on the title
page, correct?

It will, thanks to cairo, which supports SVG :-)

Yes - they are based on examples from titile pages of some old pechas
which I have re-drawn.

Might be worth having SVG as one of the output formats - to generate
sort of "web pecha"

BTW I'll try and contribute what I can to this project - but the most
useful contribution I may be able to make is to create more freely
available Unicode / OpenType Tibetan fonts. Working on those takes up
whatever spare time I can find

Very nice.

Yeah, I'm planing (crossed fingers) to support "export as" PDF and SVG
at the least. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the "renderer" that will
be used by PechaPublisher in the actual GUI app will be powered by
SVG. Too soon to tell, though...

Awesome, Chris -- that's exciting! Looking forward to seeing/trying
out those fonts.

As for the contributions to PechaPub: even an email like this is
highly-valued feedback, so no worries! :-)

Chris,

Once people start hanging out on this list, I'd welcome you to use
this list as a forum for discussing your font work, if need be. I'd
certainly be most interested in anything you chose to share, and it's
probably a good audience for any alpha or beta testing you may need to
do :-)

Take care,

d

Whoa...

What font work are you doing? I'd be VERY interested in seeing what
you've been working on.

Right now I'm mostly working updating my Jomolhari font <http://
chris.fynn.googlepages.com/jomolhari> and fixing a few things in
THDL's "Tibetan Machine Uni" font.

Next version of Jomolhari will support more than twice as many
combinations as the current version. I've also been playing with
designing a semi-bold version of this font.

I have also been working on a few other Tibetan font designs and a
Lentsa font.

Chris! Jomolhari is *gorgeous* Thanks for the preview :-) I've added
it to my ma.gnolia.com and look forward to updates :-)

Sweet.

Ahhh... I *really* look forward to that! I've not been able to find a
good Lentsa. Ever. :-)

Duncan:
doesn't that Xeno Type you got have a Lantsa. Are their font all
Uni???

Mr. Fynn:
as I'm sure you know a Lantsa is really really needed. I use Jomo and
Lamas seem to like its look but I can not wait for your up-date. I'm
testing this Umay for Gerry and I got to say its quite good. have you
seen it. I have been only playing with it for a day but love it
already. The Monlam Font (yig-chung/s) are pretty but I think they are
hell to use and have yet to be able to use fully 100%. Have you tried?
Do you still plan on adding to the UDP program. Is there any way for
you to offer this to the PP project so that all those fonts and key-
boards could be used? and those Monlam Bod-yig is there any way to
add them to the UDP? Just asking.
