Group,

I purchased my 1972 Pearson 36 in 1980 out of Barden's Boatyard, Marion MA.

I sailed a lot, but not nearly as much as I should have. Work, marriages, children and grandchildren are my  excuses (not great reasons) although I am grateful both of my wives were sailors.

My current wife Anne began her big boat career in 1971, when she had just turned 21 purchasing her Concordia out of a boatyard in Padanaram, So Dartmouth where a diesel was installed to replace the Atomic 4. The yard was aghast at what looked like a couple hippies (Anne and her boyfriend) who were "at sea" as far as owning a real Yankee icon.

My buyer was enthusiastic and wonderful to me throughout the transaction. He said he'd been looking for this model Pearson for a long time. He has a P28, now available for sale if anyone knows anyone or is interested.

Although the full purchase price was paid without hesitation last January, the boat wasn't picked up from my Savin Hill YC mooring until August. The Buyer is a busy person, like most of us.

Don Friar has a long sailing history and knows what he is doing. I mentioned our group. My recollection is he was aware, but not a member. Next time I speak to him I'll suggest it. The group has helped work me through a lot of questions and problems over the years.

In September, Don and his wife kindly took my wife, Anne, and me sailing out of Battleship Cove, Fall River where he now moors his Pearson 36.

I would like to stay involved with our Pearson google group, even though a non-Pearson owner.  My heart follows my boat and our group.

I'm currently sailing my 1965 Rhodes 19, after a modest renovation. Hauled out last week.

Bob, you are welcome to come to Sardinia/Corsica and sail on Skylark. With or without me. I could provide a couple of youngsters to do the jumping around or you can bring your own.

Congratulations Bob!  we decided not to sell our 31-2 this year but cleared the home decks of projects so we can sail more this coming year!  Then will have to look at selling again

If you are around NY come and sail with us in 26!

Congratulations, Bob. I'm sure that selling was bittersweet for you. It was good that you got to sail with the new owner. I had intended to take Jabberwocky's PO for a ride, but he lost the use of his legs before I could.

The Rhodes 19 is a fine boat. There is a fleet of them sailing in Rhode Island. I'm sure you will have a lot of fun.

Please stay on the list and share your knowledge.

Jeff

George;

That is a wonderful generous offer. I need to let my move some time to settle and then consider your very generous offer for next year.
