I have a Pearson 26OD and want to install new running rigging. Any thoughts on best diameter you use for halyards (2), main and jib sheets, boom vang and traveler? Thanks!!

Good to see that Mauripro will sell you a grand prix racing class halyard for a P26 for $485.
Also, they are recommending 5/16 diameter. I would go with 3/8 for handling comfort. Same for sheets. You could also have a 1/4 dia set of sheets for light air days (like <6 kts).
The vang and traveler control lines will depend on the size of blocks on your particular gear. I had 1/4 on my traveler which seemed fine. My vang was 3/8 if I recall. It was a 3:1 tackle that I took off to store below when the boat was not in use. I had added padeyes on cabin top just fwd of each handrail to rig it as preventer when needed (could also rig to rail). Could reach them from companionway. Very handy. Would be even easier on P26OD.
I would consider lower stretch lines for halyards and sheets. Like New England Viper. A decent compromise between $$$ and performance. I'm using that on my 10M for the sheets and halyards.
