Okay…since everyone was helpful with my holding tank questions, here’s another.
My 10M has three freshwater tanks, one per settee and one in the forward section of the quarter berth. It looks like the hoses from these go to a manifold of sorts on the starboard side of the motor compartment, each with a gate valve, then to a single line running to the demand pump located next to the quarter berth.
I’m replacing all of these as they’re old and sticky. My thought is to run all new lines, putting ball valves inline at each tank, then combining them at or near the pump. I’d like to reclaim the room in the engine compartment, and it seems silly to have the extra runs to feed them there.
Has anyone changed this, and is my thought process flawed?
