Need cover for anchor chain locker

I recently bought a 1977 Pearson 26 and am going through some repair needs.  See in the photo the opening to the anchor chain locker. I'd like to find a cover for that so rain and spray doesn't get in. Any ideas? Pearson 26 anchor chain locker.jpg

Whoa, plastic is no way to go.  Get a deck pipe.

Most openings into chain lockers I've seen have a cap that looks more like the one below.


That said, my old P30 had a ventilator on the bow like the one below. The mounting plate on the bow of your boat looks a lot like it.  I've seen people feed the anchor rode through a vent like that as a work around to avoid putting another hole in the deck.That may be what the previous owner did on your boat. The cowl of the ventilator keeps rain and spray out if you keep it pointed aft when it's wet.


That's my best guess.

A snap in cowl vent will fit in there after you pull out the broken piece. I would replace the retaining ring too.
