Replacement Gaskets

Hi All,

I have a Pearson 31-2 that needs a replacement gasket for the porthole above the galley. Does anyone know where I can find one, or what the make is?

Hi Greg

I own a 1987 31-2.

I was on the boat today and looked at the porthole above the galley (which I'm pretty sure is identical to the one above the nav station). Surprisingly I could not find any info stamped on the port. All the other ports on the boat are made by Beckson (Bridgeport CT) and have the Beckson brand name molded into the bottom flange so I suggest starting with them.

For some reason I THINK this topic was discussed on the fb Pearson 31-2 forum but not sure. You might want to ck it out. I also have Beckson on my 31-2 but not sure what the non operating ports are by brand.

I'm pretty sure I was in that discussion here because I came here looking for advice about the Beckson ports. 

Beckson.com has descriptions of how to take proper care of the ports. For example, tightening them them too much crushes the gaskets and makes them leak. Cleaning them is also important.

The installation directions have important and valuable information.

This also tells us useful information for rebedding the ports. I didn't know the soap trick for silicone sealant.
