In Mast Furling

Hello All,

I just purchased a 1983 Pearson 422, Hull #15.  I have an in mast furling system which I'm trying to identify.  All the nomenclature has long been worn off the mast and I can't see any identifying markings on what I can see of the furler.  Anyone have any ideas?

I believe the in mast furler on the 422 is a Hood stowaway in mast furler. This may get you started. Phil

Phil,  Thanks for the input.  I had a rigger check the system because we are having problems with it..He seemed to think it was a Hyde system.  I couldn't find anything in my owners info that was left on the boat.  There was a reference to Hood in mast furling as an upgrade on the old sales brochure that I found.  Anyway, I need to do a rebuild on the bearings so I need to figure out for sure what I have.  Thanks again.
