On Windows, HOME and USERPROFILE will be used if set, otherwise a combination of HOMEPATH and HOMEDRIVE will be used. An initial user is handled by stripping the last directory component from the created user path derived above.

For directories for use by Windows, you need to use NTFS junction points. This means that windows treats the junction point (shortcut) as the actual directory to which it refers, meaning your data will be somewhere else, but your programs won't see any difference. The command for creating them is:

Another method (and what I did with my SSD setup) Is to change where windows puts the Users folder. You can do this by changing the registry value HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\ProfilesDirectory to the path to your new users folder. After doing this, I renamed my user profile folder to Jonah_, restarted the computer, logged into the Administrator account and deleted my user account. I then Created an account with exactly the same credentials and logged into it. After Logging in once I went back into the Administrator account, Deleted the new Jonah folder in the Users directory and renamed Jonah_ back to Jonah. A restart for luck and I could log in to my old account and all my settings and files were there.

Other Notes:* You can not move c:\windows\WinSxS because it contains hard links to files on C:Hard links can not be located on a different drive.* you CAN move c:\windows\installer with a symbolic link. This contains files for reinstallation/uninstallations of updates & programs and can grow to a large size overtime (mine got to 20gb as an example)* I do wonder and look into information if c:\windows\system32 can be moved with a symbolic link...

High School students yearn for a library to enrich their learning and their success. Today, the library shelves are nearly empty and the bookshelves are unstable. There are only a few plastic chairs to sit in. There are no library tables. The library has a dirt floor and too few windows that are never open. Students want a library to deepen their knowledge and prepare them for their future employment.

Use the set_cmdstan_path() function to tell CmdStanR where theCmdStan installation in located. Once the path has been set,cmdstan_path() will return the full path to the CmdStan installation andcmdstan_version() will return the CmdStan version number. See Detailsfor how to avoid manually setting the path in each R session.

Before the package can be used it needs to know where the CmdStaninstallation is located. When the package is loaded it tries to help automatethis to avoid having to manually set the path every session:

If the environment variable "CMDSTAN" exists at load timethen its value will be automatically set as the default path to CmdStan forthe R session. If the environment variable "CMDSTAN" is set, but a validCmdStan is not found in the supplied path, the path is treated as a topfolder that contains CmdStan installations. In that case, the CmdStaninstallation with the largest version number will be set as the path toCmdStan for the R session.

If no environment variable is found when loaded but any directory in theform ".cmdstan/cmdstan-[version]" (e.g., ".cmdstan/cmdstan-2.23.0"),exists in the user's home directory (Sys.getenv("HOME"), not the currentworking directory) then the path to the cmdstan with the largest versionnumber will be set as the path to CmdStan for the R session. This is thesame as the default directory that install_cmdstan() would use to installthe latest version of CmdStan.
