That's a serious bummer. I hope it's just a communication problem as
I have no experience with this person other than here in the forum.
Please keep us informed.
Thanks...

I saw this clown on youtube, where he goes by the unsername UncleReaper. He's obviously full of shit. You can tell that just from his message above. He was bragging to me about having a bunch of Pearce amps. (On his youtube videos he's shown playing exactly ONE pearce amp). And he claimed he would sell me some spare parts for $300, and he was trying to inflate the price by making some false claims about some really high sale prices on ebay auctions, which I checked, and they didn't pan out. Anyway, before the deal went through, he suddenly disappeared, and wouldn't reply to my messages. Lucky me.

Well, I'm going to withhold an verdict until I hear whether or not Gaston gets his gear.  I know that his might be silly, but I'd be reluctant to do anonymous business with somebody who goes by the name "reaper" in any form.  It's just kind of weird.

To be exact. I was not bragging about having a bunch of Pearce amps. I
wrote that I have a few Pearce spare parts because you asked for. Not
one word about my amps. Here is one of my messages from july '09:

"Hi Mark, the parts are rare and the transformer wasn't cheap. The
last G2x (preamp only) was sold on ebay for $665.. (ebay Item number:
260432151425). What do you think about $300 for all the parts ?"

Seller: http://myworld.ebay.com/cosmiclug
Buyer: http://myworld.ebay.com/tgrow21

You confirmed the auction and the price in your answer:

"Yeah, I really dont know how to estimate it. Its really weird! These
ebay prices seem to be all over the place. That same ebay seller sold
a G1 powered amp for $445. And there was a fully-functional G2r that
sold in a local shop here for $450, so I was thinking it might be much
lower for just the parts. But I realize theyre becoming rare,
especially the FX PCP, although I didnt care as much about that. I was
mainly interested in the transformer, because Im not sure if I can
replace that with another brand. Theres an amp tech here that thought
it would be no problem to find a compatible replacement. I just dont
want him to plug in some other transformer and have the thing blow up!
He,he. Well, I dont want to hassle you too much. What do you think
would be your absolute lowest price for all those?"

> (On his youtube videos he's shown playing exactly ONE pearce amp)

I never had one video where I playing an amp.

And now the prices:
For example a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier costs 3580 US Dollars in
germany. A common transformer for a Peavey Rockmasterpreamp costs 265
US-Dollars in germany. In July '09 the exchange rate was higher and
the same transformer cost 280 US-Dollars.

You wanted G2r Knobs, transformer and FX PCB. Unecessary to say:
Pearce parts are rare and not less expensive here in europe. My two
A3's and my extension cabinet are gone for much less I've paid for.
For one A3 I paid 850 US Dollars and for the other one I paid 675
Dollars, for the extension cabinet I paid 290 US Dollars without the
EVM speaker..

So the buyers can figure out now how much money I got for the amps/
cabs if they subtract 115 US-Dollars for the insured international
shipping and the individual paypal fees from the price they paid.

If you find one in europe a G2r costs between 400 and 670 US-Dollars
without the extension/combo cabinet. 300 USD include the insured
international shipping and the paypal fees is still a fair price for
the spare parts.

I don't give away presents and because I don't sold the spare parts to
you for YOUR DREAM-price.. you're now obviously an big asshole. :-)

Hi Mark - Are you still in need of Pearce parts? About the G2r power
transformer, I doubt very much that you will be able to find a
replacement other than the original. As you know, it has three
separate secondary windings, two of which are center tapped, and dual
primary windings. The original transformers were custom made (I think
by a comapny called Tabtronics.) You may match the voltages but
unlikely you can match the VA ratings. Several transformers could be
used if you can find some that will fit in the alotted space. It may
be possible to do something with the one you have if it is not
shorted. I had one G2r transformer that had a broken winding at the
point where the lead was attached to the winding and it was repaired
and now resides in one of my G2r's. To me it is highly unlikely that
a power transformer would even burn out unless improper fuses were
installed, since both the primary and secondary is fused. If you
still need a G2r transformer, I can supply one (and only one.) I also
have several replacement Alesis effects boards as well as many other
Pearce parts which I obtained from the Pearce auction when they went
out of business. In some cases, the Alesis board can be repaired.
Certain IC's used are available and others are not (such as the
EPROM.) Most problems with that board are from it being overdriven by
the input signal. Any IC's that are replaced on the Alesis board
should have sockets installed since the likelihood of damaging the
traces is high with more than one replacement of a component. I have
a very easy modification for the overdriving problem if anyone is
interested and recommend that it be done to all of the G2r's.

Warning Notice “SELLING PEARCE STUFF” IS OVER - as far as I`m
concerned.
My apologies to everybody for raising hell.
Please excuse my overreactions and the offensive comments referring to
Mr. Dennis.
Communication breakdown occurs, people get ill, natural hazards take
place, stars fail to lineup, etc., but I´ve learnt my share. I just
wish I was as wise as this man:
Mohammed quote – Patience is the key to contentment.
Every man's got a devil, I´m so sorry you all had to put up with mine.
Many thanks to everybody who selflessly gave their support and
personal opinions to this issue, regardless of whether it is good or
bad (mostly good I must say).

Enough blabbing:

FACT: I GOT MY TRACKING NUMBER (MY GEAR IS ON ITS WAY!!!).

Thanks, Dennis.

Peace to all,
Gastón.

I would agree that you over reacted but your anxiety could have been ameliorated by better communication by the seller, imo...

Gaston, No problem. That’s what these blogs are for, to help people. Maybe your post here is what got Reaper out of his sick bed and got you your stuff. ;)

From your perspective but the communication is fine. He is not the
only buyer and he was in panic because he don't wait a few days for a
reply. That's ok. We both overreacted. So the things are clear now and
not worth a discussion.

I disproved all your silly lies but whatever you say.. moron.

I disagree that the communication is fine.  When people are essentially doing anonymous internet business I feel it is behooves the seller to be alert and responsive to the person who has SENT YOU MONEY.    This is different then walking into a store and paying for something to be ordered.  If there's a problem you walk back into the store with your receipt and talk to someone.   The fact that you, reaper, are not a crook or scoundrel is, I'm sure, a relief to everyone here in the group but this doesn't change the fact that timely communication ought to be the rule for internet business.    In the internet age there really is no excuse, other than coma or some other type of truly serious illness, for not replying to an email with a day or so.   Anyway that's my opinion.

Do you check your emails every day? Are you spending most of your time
in front of your monitor in the internet? I don't and I work with PCs
day by day. A normal waiting time is 2-3 days. 5 days at the weekends.
The working time, the number of emails by the day, PC problems, spam
filters, computer viruses (for example Gaston had one), illness and
problems with the Internet-Provider do the rest. It depends on various
situations when different persons reply to an email. Even in the
internet age.
