Hi everybody! I'm a long time BC1 owner and I have tried every now
and again to find the details of the Billy Sheehan mod. Well, much to
my surprise, yesterday somebody posted a link on TalkBass that lead me
here...

I'm almost done with a circuit board design for the mod (yeah, I know
I've been lagging, I've had the information since last night already!)
and I just happen to have a bunch of the appropriate chips in
stock. :) Do you think I should make more than one board? Would
anyone be interested in a mod kit with all the parts?

What does the Billy Sheehan mod do? What does it sound like? more distortion?

There is a *lot* more gain on the channel, plus IIUC the EQ is
modified so that the highs and mids are a lot stronger than the lows.
I think the idea is to use both channels at the same time when you are
soloing and just channel two all the rest of the time. I'm going to
put a jumper on the circuit board so that I can switch the extra gain
stages in and out. I'm curious to hear what the tonal mods will sound
like by themselves...
